Art Explorers - July school holidays
15 - 22 July 2022
10.30am-3.30pm
Ages 7-13 years
$40 per session
These hands-on art classes will expand your child’s knowledge of modern and contemporary art and introduce them to new materials and techniques.
In each session we will be inspired by an artist’s work or museum object to produce our own original pieces to take home.
Here's the Art Explorers schedule for the July school holidays 2022:
Textile Stars
10.30am - 3.30pm Friday 15 July
Inspired by the dreamlike works of artist Star Gossage, we will be making unique wall hangings using painting and printmaking skills.
Woolly Wonders
10.30am - 3.30pm Monday 18 July
Explore wool as an artistic medium through the colourful creations of Lissy and Rudi Robinson-Cole. Create your own woolly art and make a designer pom-pom pet.
Aroha Sculpture
10.30am - 3.30pm Wednesday 20 July
Roll up your sleeves and make 3D forms using air-dry clay, drawing on the works of sculptor Dorothy Waetford.
It’s a Matter of Perspective
10.30am - 3.30pm Friday 22 July
Can you believe your eyes? Learn how artists use perspective to create an illusion of depth and make an original work that plays with perception.
