Interactive centre for discovery
Exscite is a hands-on space where tamariki can play and learn through tactile and immersive surroundings.
Connect the circuit wall to make the lights sparkle, use the touch-screen colouring activity to create manu (birds) to fly in a digital forest, or gather around the firepit to share stories. There's always something to discover! Nau mai, haere mai.

Riverside entrance
Exscite is staying open while the rest of our building is temporarily closed for construction work. There is a new entrance to Exscite from the river-facing side of Waikato Museum while the main entrance is closed. Keep an eye out for our bright green and purple signs!
Mobility parking and a drop-off zone is available, accessed via the carpark located off Victoria Street.
What's new at Exscite?
Last year we launched Exscite: Home which showcases the way science is an integral part of everyday life. Now, we are excited to reveal the next phase of our redevelopment project, Exscite: Taiao, which is now open on the upper floor.

Waitlist
Sometimes Exscite gets very busy and we have to limit the number of visitors so that everyone can enjoy the space. This is more likely to happen during busy days in the school holidays or public holiday weekends.
If Exscite is full when you arrive, our team will ask for a contact number so that we can phone you as soon as there's room for your whaanau to visit. Thanks for your patience!
