Join us for free screenings of iconic Kiwi movies based on books as part of Hamilton Book Month.
Filled with colourful characters and a standout performance by comedian Billy T James, Came a Hot Friday is based on the novel of the same name by Ronald Hugh Morrieson.
Please note that seating is general admission in our lecture theatre, let us know in advance if you have accessibility requirements. Latecomers will not be admitted.

It is 1949 and there is money to be made... Wes (Peter Bland) and his side kick Cyril (Phillip Gordon) make a living out of conning small town bookies. When they win a large amount of money at the local illicit casino, the villainous Sel Bishop (Michael Lawrence) manages to avoid paying up so Wes and Cyril join forces with the Tainuia Kid (Billy T James) and set out to get their money back.
