Kaarohirohi

Te Rangihaeta Koroheke, Kiana Ormsby and Kiharoa Kakau

19 March 2021 - 19 April 2021

Artists Te Rangihaeta Koroheke (Ngāti Maniapoto, Te Ati Awa), Kiana Ormsby (Ngāti Maniapoto) and Kiharoa Kakau (Ngai Te Rangi) will be responding to the importance of the Waikato river and our waterways as a connector and embodiment of tūpuna.

Kaarohirohi is in reference to a type of ethereal light that is reflected from the water and with the right  conditions can evoke feelings of comfort and beauty. These Waikato based emerging artists will explore themes of kaitaikitanga, hononga, and whakapapa in their first exhibition at ArtsPost.
