8 September 2021

We are thrilled to let you know that during Alert Level 2 Waikato Museum Te Whare Taonga o Waikato is open from 10am to 5pm every day.

Taking care of our community at Alert Level 2

Contact tracing

Visitors will be asked to scan our QR code when they enter, or provide their name and contact details to staff if they cannot use the QR code. It is a Government requirement that you keep a record of where you have been (at all Alert Levels) so contact tracing can happen quickly in the event of a Covid-19 outbreak.

Physical distancing

While visiting Waikato Museum, you'll need to maintain two-metre physical distancing from other people. To make sure we can keep visitors at a safe distance as they move through the Museum, numbers will be limited to a total of 100 inside the Museum at one time with other limits on specific galleries.

Face coverings

Government requirements mean that it is mandatory for staff and visitors to wear a face covering (mask) in public areas at Waikato Museum. This is to keep you, your whaanau, and the community safe.
