Progging workshop

29 May 2021

10am-2pm

$45

To coincide with the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band exhibition, tutor Vivien Hendy presents a very American and traditional form of folk art.

Progging is a hand-hooked method of making mats which is different to latch hooking as it is relatively smooth in appearance. Done on a frame and with a crochet hook on hessian, it uses very fine commercially knitted garments as the most favourable fibre.

Frames, hessian and crochet hooks will be provided. You may also bring your own crochet hook (size 4.5-6mm) and fine knitwear (not hand knitted) that you wish to recycle.

11am Tea break (morning tea provided)

11.15am Workshop session 2

12.30pm Lunch break
