Loom Weaving Workshop: Leno Lace

Join Vivien Hendy to learn about using hand manipulation of yarn and explore the technique of leno weaving to create a beautiful lace effect.

This workshop series explores the construction of textiles and provides hands-on weaving experience on a wooden frame loom, from setting up a warp to achieving a balanced weave and much more.

Vivien Hendy has worked as a tutor for the Waikato Society of Arts for the past 10 years teaching a course 'Exploring Art Techniques' and design. Vivien's interest in textiles began as a teenager proficient in many forms of needlecraft. For the past 40 years, she has been actively involved with spinning, weaving, felting and dyeing and has exhibited her work both in the Waikato and nationally in Woolcraft Festivals.
