Mokuhanga/Japanese Woodcut Demonstration

23 June 2018

Free event
11am
2pm

Sybille Schlumbom, coordinator and tutor at the Waikato Society of Arts art school, has been learning and practising Japanese woodcut (mokuhanga) with tutors in Australia and Europe. This year she has been invited by the Mokuhanga Innovation Laboratory in Tokyo to learn from printmakers in their purpose-built studio at Lake Kawaguchi, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.

Come and see how different this printing technique is from European woodcut.
