Roaring Twenties
27 May 2018

Join us for an afternoon of “jazzed” up music with the Cambridge Brass Quintet.
The concert on Sunday May 27th is a homage to the "Roaring Twenties". This decade saw great changes in social, political, economic and musical norms. Many women joined the workforce during the First World War, and finding that they enjoyed the freedoms that getting out of the home and having an income of their own were reluctant to return to pre-war social restrictions. Popular music, especially dance music reflected this new found freedom requiring that it be "jazzed up". Cambridge Brass Quintet will play a selection of the most popular compositions of the decade.
