A highlight of the opening of Waikato Museum on 3 October 1987 was the performance by Hamilton Civic Choir, which included Waikato Song by composer Edwin Carr, a choral work commissioned specially for the opening and conducted by Guyon Wells. To help mark Waikato Museum’s 30 years on Grantham Street, Hamilton Civic Choir will once again grace the Museum’s galleries to perform a special concert celebrating the connection between Waikato’s cultural institutions.
