Tune in to the stars! Join us in our current exhibition Te Whaanau Maarama: The Heavenly Bodies for a stellar afternoon of events and activities. Experience the whole programme or choose specific talks, performances and craft sessions. No booking required.

12pm - 12.30pm    Tai Waananga kapa haka performance

1pm - 2pm           Te Whaanau Maarama: Public talk and tour lead by University of Waikato  Associate Professor and curator Rangi Matamua

2pm – 2.30pm      Matariki Hunga Nui – Creating New Identities in Aotearoa - Waikato University Senior Lecturer, Screen & Media Studies and curator Dr Ann Hardy

2pm - 4pm          Matariki Crafts – Star-making/colouring in/kites/storytelling

4pm - 5pm           Matariki Koorero: Noted orator and Maaori history expert Rahui Papa discusses the significance to Tainui

5pm - 5.30pm       Ngaati Korokii Kahukura Pakeke kapa haka performance

5.30 - 6pm           Horomona Horo plays taonga puuoro – traditional Maaori instruments.
