Art and Architecture: Works by Aubrey and Mary de Lisle

4 March - 17 April 2016

Free entry

Aubrey and Mary de Lisle were rare couple. Both were architects as well as artists.

Aubrey’s love of architecture takes on a social historical aspect. His architectural eye became a time lapse camera lens over a changing city.

Mary’s global view starts with the Raglan rock drawings and travels around various worldviews including Celtic, Aboriginal, Japanese, and Greek symbolism and aesthetics. The culminating in etchings that return her to Aotearoa.

This exhibition provides us with a brief glimpse into their immaculately constructed works that are both regional and universal.
