Join us to round off your summer holidays for some science, art and history fun.
Our programmes are from 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday. For children 7-12 years. Programmes cost $35 per day plus booking fee of $3.60 per ticket.

Clay Instruments
Monday 19 January
Turn mud into music - how does it work? Make a simple clay whistle to take home.
Science Wizards
Tuesday 20 January
Learn about science through experiments and science art.
Eco Arts and Crafts
Wednesday 21 January
Create a 3D artwork from recycled materials and make your own hand-crafted paper with leaves and flowers.
Sound Shambles
Thursday 22 January
Explore the science of sound and create an instrument to play in our experimental orchestra. Earplugs not included!
Of Myths and Masks
Friday 23 January
Make your own mask to retell a popular myth or story.

Tuesday 27 January
See historical cameras in our collection, make sun prints and go on a photo safari (please bring a digital camera).
Time Traveller Tour
Wednesday 28 January
Explore the history of Hamilton and play old fashioned games like your grandparents used to play.
Make a Bird Feeder
Thursday 29 January
Learn about our native birds, then construct a bird feeder.
Print Like a Pro
Friday 30 January, 8.30am-3:30pm
Experiment with different print techniques and create a limited edition print series.
Terms and Conditions
Programmes must be booked and paid for online by 10pm the day prior to selected programme. Bookings are not confirmed until payment is received.
Registrations must be completed by a parent or guardian of the child enrolled over the age of 18 years old.
Enrolment
You must book and supply complete enrolment details for each child. A copy of this will be emailed to you.
Cancellation
Once accepted registrations are final. If your child/children cannot attend a booked programme, we require 24 hours notice of cancellation to issue a refund. Email us to notify.
Unless required by law transfers or refunds (partial or full) are not issued except in extenuating circumstances and at the sole discretion of Waikato Museum.
Programme supervision
The everyday programme ratio is one teacher to 10 children. Depending on the activity, some programmes require more supervision.
Children will be in view of staff at all times when appropriate.
Children will be informed of the boundaries and are expected to stay within them.
Children are not to leave the supervised area.
What to bring
Suitable clothing must be worn e.g. outdoor activities require a warm jacket in the winter or a sunhat and sunscreen in the summer.
Children must bring appropriate, healthy food for morning tea and lunch and a labelled drink bottle.
Timing
Full day programmes are from 8.30am – 3.30pm
Children must be collected by 3.30pm. If you are more than 10 minutes late to pick up your child/children, a $10 fee will apply per child.
Parking is available in the Museum car park accessible on the north side Victoria Street entrance of ArtsPost or on Grantham Street.
