Hugo The Hippo

7 November 2014

10.30-12pm

Free event

Escape the spring weather with a good dose of colour and fun.

The graphics for this animated movie were designed by Graham Percy in the 70’s.

The Sultan of Zanzibar has a problem - his harbour is infested with sharks. To solve the problem, he brings in twelve hippos to keep the sharks away, and it works. But once the hippos are no longer needed, they become a nuisance and are massacred by Aban Khan and all but one little hippo named Hugo.

Please note that this movie is part of the Graham Percy exhibition and has no official rating.

With its psychedelic design and violent content we don’t recommend it for young viewers, but admirers of Graham Percy’s work will find further insight in his work and wicked sense of humour.
